“The Voice”  is by general consensus the #1 announcer in harness racing. The excitement and drama of his calls are present in all of his race descriptions, and he seems to “step it up a notch” even further when describing in one of harness racing’s classics, such as The Little Brown Jug or The Adios. Certainly no announcer has been invited to over half a dozen countries and 130+ tracks to give local fans a taste of his abilities, and few announcers have had the ability to stamina to amass in excess of 160,000 race calls in their career. Huston is of course the founding host of the Meadows Racing Network, which in 2013 celebrated the 30th anniversary of its 1983 debut as perhaps the pioneering extended-form racing broadcast. Roger is equally at home calling at a county fair, where he started, or behind the mic of the sport’s classic events.
